Fort Oglethorpe Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire at 131 Stuart Road off Battlefield Parkway about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. The house was destroyed.

Battalion Chief Doug Soury said when firefighters arrived heavy smoke and fire was coming through the roof. They called for assistance from East Ridge, Walker County State Prison and Catoosa County fire departments.

Soury said the fire lasted until 3 a.m. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
