Four Ringgold residents were among the winners in the St. Jude Dream Home giveaway, but a Tennessee woman left with the top prize of a new $300,000 home.

Local winners and their prizes are Denise Self, Lighting Gallery $1,000 Shopping Spree; Tammie Metcalf, Chattanooga Restaurant Package; Kimberly Harris, Lisa’s Gold & Diamonds $1000 Shopping Spree; and Heather Long, Bombay Bed.

Cynthia Greene from Estill Springs, Tenn., is the grand-prize winner of a beautiful $300,000 home announced during the third annual St. Jude Dream Home give-away. Her winning ticket was pulled from among more than 6,100 other tickets during a WDEF News-12 live special on Sunday.

The St. Jude Dream Home in the Hidden Ridges Estates near Ringgold was built by D&V Developers, Greg Pickard Construction, and McClure Quality Construction with support from various local suppliers and housing subcontractors.

“We’re really proud of the continued success of the St. Jude Dream Home in the Chattanooga area,” said Phillip Deal, associate director for St. Jude. “We are very appreciative to D&V Developers, Greg Pickard Construction, McClure Quality Construction, WDEF News12, US101, Gateway Bank, Rossville Bank, Regions Bank, ClearChannel Outdoor, Hancock Fabrics, the volunteers, local businesses, and local residents whose generous support made this event possible.”

According to Rachelle L. Lea, senior event marketing representative, the St. Jude Dream Home raised over $617,000 for research and treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Walker County winners include Sue McDaniel of Rock Spring, who won a $5000 furniture shopping spree, and Wayne and Debbie Ingram of Chickamauga who won a $1000 Shopping Spree at Hancock Fabrics.

Other winners from surrounding counties were Wayne Eason, Gary Brock, John Kurtenberger, Cheryl Hutsell, Doloris Patterson, Roberta Robinson, Alan & Debbie Robbins, Berdie Patterson, and Larry Turner.

The late entertainer Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Memphis, Tenn.

The hospital is an internationally recognized biomedical research center dedicated to finding cures for catastrophic diseases of childhood. The hospital’s work is supported through funds raised by the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities.

All St. Jude patients are treated regardless of their ability to pay. ALSAC covers all costs of treatment beyond those reimbursed by third party insurers, and total costs for families who have no insurance. For more information, please visit www.stjude.org
