A mini-game shootout will be held at Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill tonight, Nov. 17, to decide which football team will advance to the state playoffs in Region 7-AAAA.

The first mini-game will start at 7 p.m. with Ringgold facing Dalton. The loser will play Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Each team will play two five minute halves in the mini games. If an outcome is not determined at the end of those two halves, the tie-breaker, based on Georgia High School Association, over time rule will be implemented.

The two winners will then go on the road for first round playoff games, and the third team will be eliminated.

A team qualifying for the state playoffs by winning a tiebreaker mini-game on Monday will play Saturday, Nov. 22, in the opening round of the state playoffs, unless both teams agree to play on Friday, according to the GHSA rule book
