We were very glad and very grateful, Brown said. I was humbled and you dont do this kind of thing alone. It is something that takes a lot of work from a lot of people and I am just grateful to my supporters and everyone who voted for me, Brown said.
Brown received 11,519 votes (52 percent) to narrowly defeat Lawrences 10,594 votes (48 percent).
I think the campaign for clerk of Superior Court is a credit to both of us. We ran a solid, clean campaign, Brown said of his opponent Lawrence.
I am looking forward to serving the folks of Walker County, he said.
Brown thanked all of his supporters and the people who voted for him.
Brown is a Walker County native and this is his first political office.
My staff and I will always remember that you, the taxpayer, pay our salary. We are there to serve you, Brown, a Marine Corps veteran and Covenant College graduate, said.
