A Monday car accident left one Walker County resident dead and three others injured.

A 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 18-year-old Summerville resident Kevin James Ball left the road, overturned, and hit a utility pole just after midnight as he was driving east on Lake Howard Road in LaFayette.

Jessica Langston, 19, of LaFayette was killed in the accident. The three injured were taken to Erlanger Hospital for treatment of “serious, non-life-threatening injuries.”

Georgia State Patrol reports Ball was driving too fast. He is not suspected of being under the influence at the time of the accident.

The investigation has been handed over to the Georgia State Patrol Special Crash Reconstruction Team
