Authorities have arrested a Rossville man for hijacking a car Tuesday at a local convenience store.

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Department report on the incident:

Daniel Harold McClendon, 19, of Indian Avenue, was arrested Tuesday night at the Jiffy Mart on Mission Ridge Road in Rossville.

He has been charged with hijacking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The driver of the hijacked vehicle, identified as a 30-year-old Rossville man, said McClendon knocked on his car window and asked him if he wanted to buy some drugs. The victim said he refused, which upset McClendon. The victim said McClendon aimed a gun at him, telling him to get out of the vehicle.

Police believe the suspect stole a vehicle from Chattanooga earlier on Tuesday
