Jack “Jackie” Lebron Teeters, 59, Chickamauga

Jack “Jackie” Lebron Teeters of Chickamauga died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009. He was 59.

He lost his life to brain cancer. His loving wife, respected sons and close family were by his side while outside the morning snow began to softly fall and cover the Teeters’ hillside. Jackie spent his final days in his den with a fire burning in the fireplace he built in his home, surrounded by those he had touched throughout his very memorable life.

Those who knew Jackie would know that the quality of existence far exceeds the amount of time he lived. Jackie was such a generous and caring man. He would lift a hand to anyone that needed his help. He and his wife Janie were married for thirty-seven years and have two beautiful sons that will carry on Jackie’s legacy and pass it on to their sons.

Close family and dear friends have a lifetime of memories of Jackie. He was a very special husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and coach. Jackie began working hard at a young age to support his wife Janie and newborn son Stephen Christopher. His wife said Jackie was beaming with pride from head to toe the day his first son was born. Five years later his second son, Stacy Shea, was born and their lives were enriched even more than one can explain. He taught them how to hunt, fish and how to be hard workers. He also taught them how to be good people. Jackie always had a special connection with his boys. He never missed Stephen’s baseball and football games. He spent hours building a calf roping pin and hours teaching Stacy to rodeo.

He loved his boys so much more than anyone will ever be able to explain, as he did his beautiful wife. The love Jackie had for his wife was one filled with romance and everlasting love. There were countless nights that he and his wife spent dancing and singing with each other. Jackie always put his family first. Jackie started Jackie‘s Pools from the ground up and worked hard everyday to provide for his family.

He took pride in his work as he did with his life. He had many close nieces and nephews, but before too long he received what one may consider the greatest gift of all, his grandchildren. He taught his grandsons to hunt and fish just like he did his sons. He loved and adored all of his grandchildren and was so proud of them.

Jackie was a coach for several years for the Chickamauga Recreation Association in football and baseball. He was a former member of the Chickamauga Jaycees, National Wild Turkey Federation, North Georgia Coon Hunters Association, Gordon Lee Athletics Booster Club, Quail Unlimited, Quality Deer Management, Pigeon Mountain Sporting Clays and was on the Board of Directors of Covenant Bank & Trust, in Rock Spring, Georgia.

Jackie left footprints on all of our hearts and the memory of his life will linger above us forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Frank and Helen Ilene Strickland Teeters; brother, Johnny Teeters; and sister, Patsy Grant. Jackie.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Sprayberry Teeters; his sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen and Shannon Teeters, Stacy and Tiffany Teeters; grandchildren, Blake, Hunter, Haley, Zoe, Jack, Samuel and Luke all of Chickamauga; his loving sisters, Brenda O’Neal, Jeannette O’Neal, Charlene Cornelison, Donna Mullens; and his brother Danny Teeters. The Teeter’s family wishes to say thanks to all of their family, friends and businesses that provided love, prayers, support and donations throughout the past eighteen months.
