The Heritage Middle School academic bowl team competed in the PAGE region competition Jan. 16. After placing first in their division, they advanced to the state semi-finals competition in Milledgeville, Ga. Jan. 23. After five rounds of play, HMS finished first in their division and then advanced to the final three rounds for the top eight teams.

The team finished tied for third place with two other teams. The tie had to be broken by total points scored. After the final round, out of hundreds of teams that started the competition at the local level, HMS finished fifth in the state.
