At its recent business meeting, the Walker County Board of Education honored this year's Distinguished Teachers from each school. Distinguished Teachers receive a certificate for $200 to use in their classrooms. Robert Stinson, Walker County schools' Distinguished Teacher of the Year for the district for 2009-2010 who teaches at Rossville Middle School, received $1,000 for advanced professional learning opportunities.
