Kids 4 Christ’s Back 2 School Blast will be held Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Kids 4 Christ building across from Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home in LaFayette.

Kids who attend can pick up their free bag and supplies while enjoying games, refreshments, an inflatable and face painting. Admission, activities and school supplies are all completely free, provided by Kids 4 Christ and its many community partners.

Over the last seven years, hundreds of local students have been given free book bags and school supplies during Back 2 School Blast.

Last year 274 book bags and supplies were distributed; this year’s event is expected to be even bigger with plans to hand out at least 350 free bags.

To keep supplies from running out, book bags are available only to school-age children who attend in person. Gates open at 9 a.m. to beat the heat, and parents are encouraged to arrive early since everything is available first-come first-serve.

Kids 4 Christ is an independent organization serving children in the LaFayette area. K4C offers weekly Bible classes, a daily after-school academic program as well as mentoring activities to help children open their minds, hearts, and lives to Jesus.
