Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Eric Harris of Ringgold announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashton Nicole Harris to Nicholas Pinnell Hamner.

Nicholas Hamner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Schuessler II of LaGrange and the late Mr. Jodie Pinnell Hamner.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harris and Mrs. Sara Nichols, and the late Marshall E. Nichols Sr., all of Ringgold. She is a graduate of Ringgold High School and a 2010 graduate of Jacksonville State University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in psychology. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in psychology at Jacksonville State University.

The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hamner Jr. of Roanoke, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Brazeal of Wedowee, Ala. He is a graduate of Handley High School in Roanoke and a 2009 graduate of Jacksonville State University, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in history. He was a member of the Order of Kappa Alpha. He plans to graduate with a master’s of arts in history from Jacksonville State University in December 2010.

The wedding will be Oct. 30, at Flint Hill in Norcross.
