• Between 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 5:33 p.m. on Oct. 23, a theft by taking occurred from a storage unit at 400 Direct Connection Drive in Rossville, resulting in theft of nearly $19,000 worth of goods.

The victim told police that she had recently moved all and her husband's belongings to the storage unit with the help of two movers, with whom she was with the entire time the moving was taking place.

She says that she then returned to the unit the next day to retrieve a table, and discovered that someone had broken the lock off of the unit, and stole all of the couple's belongings.

Clothing, appliances, furniture, and electronics were among the items taken during the incident.

The case was turned over to detective Ed Vickrey.

• Between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, a forced-entry burglary occurred at the "Twice is Nice" resale shop at 10 Dietz Road in Ringgold, resulting in the theft checks and jewelry from the establishment.

The owner of the business told police that she was at the shop while it was closed doing a little clean up and merchandise pricing, when she had to leave in a hurry.

She says she then returned a short time later to find that someone had entered the store and had taken her Northwest Georgia Bank checks and assorted jewelry from the store.

She added that missing checks were already written out to her customers as reimbursements.

She also admitted that due to leaving the store in a hurry in order to take her daughter to work, she may not have fully locked the door.

She stated that she attempted to lock the door as she left, and put her key in the lock upon re-entering, but could not be certain if the door was secure during the 30 minutes she was away.

The case was turned over to detective Timothy Busby.
