Fort Oglethorpe police detectives are investigating two auto break-ins that occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the parking lot of a health care center on Battlefield Parkway.

The incidents took place between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the parking lot of National Health Care at 2403 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway), and both involved the windows being broken out of the vehicles in order to gain entry.

The vehicles, a 2002 Saturn Vue and a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, belonged to employees of the heath care center, who discovered the break-ins after work.

A purse containing about $257 worth in cash and other items was reported stolen from the Saturn, while the owner of the Jeep told police that nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle, reports show.

In both instances, a passenger-side window was broken out of the vehicle, with pry marks also discovered on one of the Jeep doors.

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins or possible suspect information is encouraged to contact the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department at 706-866-2512.
